I dag den 5:e mars är det Global Shinkai Day, en hyllningsdag till filmskaparen Makoto Shinkai.
Shinkai är känd för sina vackra anime filmer och hyllas som "den nya Miyazaki", Hayao Miyazaki som skapat bl a  Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away och Ponyo – mästerfilmerna från Studio Ghibli. Jag älskar i stort sätt alla Miyazakis verk, Shinkai är faktiskt helt ny för mig och idag ska jag gräva mig in i hans verk!
Tittar man på screenshots från Voices of Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days och 5 Centimeters per Second så kommer man nästan i hänryckning, så vackert ser det ut!
Global Shinkai day firas på Chrunchyroll, de kommer att visa alla verk online. Shemat börjar 8.00pm (EST) vilket betyder 02:00 här i Sverige o_o (6:e mars för oss alltså) och pågår i 48h: du behöver inte dygna.

Today the 5th of March it's the Global Shinkai Day, a celebration for the director and animator Makoto Shinkai.
Shinkai is famous for his beautiful anime movies and is praised as "the new Miyazaki", Hayao Miyazaki who made Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away and Ponyo – the masterpieces from Studio Ghibli. I love nearly all of Miyazaki's works, Shinkai though is new to me and today I'll dig into his works!

Global Shinkai day is celebrated at Chrunchyroll, they'll have all the works online. The schedule starts at 8:00pm (EST) which means 2am here in Sweden o_o (6th of March then) and runs for 48h: so no need to stay upp all night.
