Idag är det nyårsafton enligt den kinesiska kalendern! The Spring Festival, som kineserna kallar nyårsfirandet, är den viktigaste högtiden man firar, som vår jul där man förbereder veckor i förväg och öser med dekorationer. Kinesiskt nyår firas förutom i mainland Kina givetvis också i Hong Kong, Singapore och Taiwan men även lite i många andra länder där kineser lämnat "avtryck"  t e x i Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Korea och Japan (Japan håller sig efter vår kalander dock).
Här firar vi med kinesiska dekorationer, jiao zi (kinesiska ravioli) och det viktigaste tv programmet varje år, Chun jie lian huan wan hui (united happy spring festival night meeting, för att va exakt) >_π.
Varje år är ett år av ett djur från den kinesiska calendern, 2010 är tigerns år!

Today is the Chinese New Year eve (Lunar calendar)! The Spring Festival, as the Chinese call their new year celebration, is the most important feast, like our Christmas where you prepare weeks ahead and use alot of decoration. The Chinese New Year is celebrated in mainland China but ofcourse also in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan but also some in many other countries where Chinese left their "mark" for example in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Korea and Japan (Japan keep to our calander though).
Here we celebrate with Chinese decorations, jiao zi (Chinese dumplings) and the most important tv show each year, Chun jie lian huan wan hui (united happy spring festival night meeting, to be exact) >_π.
Each year is a year of one of the animals from the Chinese zodiac, 2010 is the year of the tiger!
