Today, also every 3rd of March, there is a festival of girls, called as The Doll Festival, Girls' Day etc. Doll Festival is one of the most important festivals in Japan and has a long history. It derives from an anicent custom that people wish dolls, called hina ningyo, can carry the bad spirits of their daunghters and finally throw them into rivers to "purify" the bad spirits. What most impressive on Doll Fesival is that every family decorate the display shelf with different dolls. peach blossoms and accessories (there're some rules to place them). It looks awesome!!
